Hotel was chosen because of proximity to railway station. Budget hotel which was clean but rather tired.
Shower didn't work.
Lovely bed - huge double which was brilliant. Breakfast was very genrous with the most elaborate fruit plate i've ever seen - really enjoyed our stay.
Crows in the trees next to it were a bit loud, but i suppose they were nesting!
Location was excellent. Staff very friendly and the rooms; quality and comfort were more than adequate for the price. The breakfast (full cooked with cereal and loads of different types of fruit) was lovely in the morning and the staff were very attentive to our needs (2 adults and 1 baby) I would happily stay again.
The walls were a little paper thin, a wedding was being held in the conference room. - No noise from that even though a loud band was playing the room itself was still quiet. Its when other drunken guests come back and do 'adult things' in the room next to you, that woke us and our little boy up a few times. Not the hotels fault at all, just think about how busy the hotel might be before booking. Also the heating knob to adjust temperature had broken leaving the room very very hot.
The room was clean and tidy with good facilities. It was very handy for the town shops, rail and bus services. The airport was within walking distance, but there was an hourly bus service from the front door of the hotel. The manager of the hotel was very helpful.
The Bar area was in need of refurbishment and had a rather bleak out outlook across a supermarket car park.
The Hotel was in a good central location in the town. Friendly and helpful staff and excellent Price considering remoteness of town.
No Big screeen TV in Bar.
The hotel is conveniently situated near to the station with a good view of the river, but from the aesthetic point of view it's a pity about the car park in front.
We ate in the bar, but it was quite noisy being a Saturday evening.
Hotel was clean and friendly but decoration is in need of an upgrade. The room was of a good size and comfortable and represented good value for money. Breakfast was good.
Improvement of decoration in public areas and in rooms
We thought the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The meals were excellent in terms of quality, quantity, and price. We were particularly impressed by the fresh fruit (range and presentation) at beakfast.
The range of [bottled] beers in the bar could be made more extensive.
This hotel is rubbish, tatty, uncomfortable beds, smells of stale greasy cooking. Had it not been for the fact that we arrived at 10pm & could not find an aternative we would not have stayed. Breakfast was included in rate but we gave it a miss, front of house was bad enough, God knows what the kitchens were like. Flaking paint was kept on the wall by the cobwebs Appalling hotel in need of a total refurb & restaffing or better still demolish it. Did I mention it was rubbish!!!!!????
See the good points......this hotel should be demolished. It is a disgace to Scotland & the hotel trade. The rooms were tatty, flaking paint, cobwebs, revolting old , lumpy uncomfortable beds. The good point about the stay was leaving the car park to move on. How they dare charge the rate they do or even trade is beyond me
Very friendly lady on counter who made us welcome even after we had booked out and were waiting for the train. Really lovely people including the manager [owner?] who helped us at breakfast.
excellent friendly staff, lovely fresh berries and fruit for breakfast, handy for town centre and railway station
wi fi not available in rooms, BBC1 & BBC2 not working on TV otherwise very good
Friendly staff ,food lovely ,very good service all round
Everything was excellent. there were no problems and i have no difficulty recommending this hotel. it has been upgraded and everything about the stay was spot on.
Refurbished dining and bar areas are very good. Food was well cooked and plentiful.
Rooms are a bit old fashioned and cramped but comfortable non-the-less.
The car park across the road was very noisy at night
